today is my last day of school.
im trudgging through my last paper right now and have my last final tonight for a class that doesn't even count for graduation credits so needless to say... this has been ROUGH.
note to self: pay library fines.
im outta here on the 4th of june, after graduation on the 2nd.
then i'll be in chicago on the 5th or 6th depending on when juan and his dad haul our stuff out.
excitement is mounting much like that feeling when youre about to throw up. |

just got my tickets for pitchfork this summer! hooray!
its three days now! which is exciting! and its still only $45!!
so far the line up is pretty nice - cat power, of montreal, iron and wine.
and i'll be living in good ole chi-town by then. wowzers!!! |

its been anounced folks:
my degree project show will be on... Thursday, APRIL 26th, 2007, from 6:00 - 7:30 pm.
that means you all should book some plane / train / bus tickets right NOW.
ps. im leaving for NYC this afternoon, and then i'm off to Argentina on sunday until feb 11th. there will be internet so there will probably be emailing / updating / facebooking.

so i got my stiches out abot 30 min ago only to get two little butterfly closures and an even larger bandaid that like takes up half my hand and limits my thumb motion. lameeeeeee! i really wanted to take a shower with both of my hands, but my right one will still be gloved.
and when the doctor took out the stiches i had what she said was a "vasovagal episode" which is a fancy word for feeling like youre going to throw up and getting all hot and sweaty, which she attributed to me being young and skinny. haha. and that i was staring down the gaping crevace on my right thumb. *vomits*
so now im going to go lay down on the couch for a little bit and celebrate my last day of deadlines.
all i have left is a crit tomorrow w/ guest critic brian chippendale.
then i celebrate w/ a new american apparel wrap dress
then i do laundry, and pack and head back to good ole' wisco on thursday afternoon.

it's kindof the weekend already for me. i dont really post on this anymore.
im meeting the director of the guggenheim museum this weekend, and we get to chat about art and the gallery show that ive put together in my gallery. thats exciting. i may ask her for a job?
when i graduate in june i want to be able to move my u-haul of stuff to somewhere that isnt back to milwaukee.
i want to know whats going to happen with my life.
i want to go back to somewhere that speaks spanish for a little while, or somewhere crazy like new york city or canada or europe for a minute
then move back to the midwest because the east coast-o is lame-o.
i would like to have a couch and cable tv and an unlimited supply of embroidery floss.
well, actually, i really just want a puppy and a yard. |

pitchfork festival was insane today.
my day started out with a giant bottle of ice cold water that was almost gone within 15 minutes of Man Man's KILLER set. wowzers do those guys put up a racket. i must thank los chicos de Wickenden for getting me into those crazymother-effers. banging on pots and pans and playing one of those wierd ass blow-pianos that sam bought in mexico.
then... i sat in the grass for the hottest hour of my life waiting for the Mountain Goats and it was more worth it than ever. I hope you die. I hope we both die -- that singalong was the sweetest. their set was toooooo short.
then!
i trecked through the arts n craft tent and picked up two sweet neclaces, one for marley's birthday. and bought another bottle of water --- a large one! reasonably priced at $1!! and it was water PLUS electrolytes AND it was vapor distilled. i felt quite lucky to have such special water. after that hydration and a clementine, i made my way over to FLATSTOCK 9 and picked up a very nice Devendra Banhart gig-poster and a super cool Jay Ryan Pitchfork Music Festival poster for only $5. And one of the cooler highlights of the day was seeing the Yee-haw industries booth and the Pollock Prints booth, complete with the litho blocks that just printed the Tenthousandlakesfestival posters. so that was neat-o to see the whole run of old phish posters, both my musical lives crashing together - way cool.
after i spent all my money...
I FINALLY saw Ted Leo and the Pharmacists. Rhode Island represent! he rocked my bare-feet-off. it was so rocking. so old-school-rock'n'roll-ing. and it had cooled down to probably 89degrees at that point, so i was a happy camper.
and after that, i decided to head back to e-town because i couldnt stand up anymore.
but before i got on the train an army of mexicans weilding bell-jingling-Paleteria-carts attacked me and just forced me into spending what could have been a counterfeit dollar (the CTA machines NEVER took it and it was brandnew) on the most delicious fresa paleta EVER. mmmmmmmmmm me gusta los paletas.
so all in all, a stellar stellar day.
and tomorrrow will probably be better because i have mr. devendra banhart and spoon on the lineup. SIGH! |
